Apple Court Pendu Plat

 

One of the oldest varieties of apple still grown, thought to have been introduced by the Romans and very popular in Victorian times. Medium sized, round fruit. Greenish yellow skin becoming yellow flushed with deep orange-red stripes. The flesh is creamy white, firm, fine-textured and juicy with a pineapple-like flavour. First described in 1613 but thought to be much older.
