Apple Norfolk

A
large dark green cooker with a deep red flush. Firm white
flesh with a coarse texture. Raised in Norfolk and first
recorded in 1807. Very popular in Norwich up to the 1950s
and sold by bakers as after-dinner sweetmeats (dried
slowly in bread ovens as they cooled, and then coated with
melted sugar). Norfolk C.1807
