Common Reed
Phragmites australis
Commonly seen on wet or marshy ground where large stands of reed make for a fabulous East Anglian sight. Tall flowering stems and broad leaves that sway and bend in unison in the slightest breeze. Extensively used as the ‘Norfolk Reed’ of thatching.
