Great Mullein
Verbascum thapsis
A large architectural plant up to 2 metres (6ft) tall, with foliage covered in silky silvery white hairs. In its second year tall spire-like stalks covered in yellow flowers appear. Very suited to dry sites but easy to grow in many situations.
