Wild Cherry

Our native Wild Cherry. An outstanding tree with smooth grey bark turning mahogany red with age. In spring the branches are covered with clusters of white blossom. Lovely autumnal colour.

Myrobalan or Cherry Plum

Deciduous tree bearing white flowers followed by small red and yellow plum shaped edible fruit. Prunus cerasifera makes an excellent natural hedge.

Bullace

A much sought after but rarely found tree. The Bullace of our countryside. White flowers in early spring with a mixture of green yellow and red small plum like fruits in the autumn. A deciduous, self-fertile tree growing to 5-6m at a medium rate.

Common Laurel

Common Laurel is a well known large evergreen shrub, mid green glossy leaves, easy to grow and extensively planted as an effective screen or hedge.

Prunus laurocerasus Rotundifolia

Prices start from £1.80 for 60/90cm plants. Also available are larger sizes of hedging. Please email or phone for a quotation.

We also grow this increasingly rarer form, which is the original Laurel. Narrower leaves than the more usual form but just as easy to grow. This form is the best for hedges.

Prunus lusitanica

Portuguese Laurel

The makes a very large evergreen shrub or small tree; deep glossy green foliage with cherry-red leaf stalks and masses of white scented flowers in June. Portuguese Laurel is a first rate plant of easy cultivation.

Bird Cherry

Bird Cherry is a charming native tree producing racemes of white almond scented flowers in May followed by dark fruits in autumn. This really should be planted more often.
