Acer campestre Royal Ruby A quite beautiful form of our native 'Field Maple' producing rich red puple leaves during spring and early summer which gradually fade to a deep green as summer progresses

Snakebark Maple

A distinctive snake-bark maple with mysterious green and white bark, producing wonderfully warm autumnal colourings of orange and red. Ideal for smaller gardens.  
Acer cappadocium Aureum A particularly striking form of this variety, making a medium to large sized tree with luxuriously large glossy leaves turning rich butter yellow in the Autumn.

Hornbeam Maple

Hornbeam Maple, makes a small to medium sized tree of good balanced growth habit, interesting Hornbeam like leaves that turn yellow and gold in autumn.

Vine Maple

Vine maple, usually making a large shrub tree. Produces decorative wine-red and white flowers in April whilst in the autumn its curious circular leaves are prettily tinted in the summer turn a fabulous orange and crimson in the autumn.

Snakebark Maple

A handsome medium-sized maple, its bark turns to a distinctive striated green and white. Produces sweet scented flowers and ornamental green, suffused red fruits in the autumn which hang decoratively along the branches.  
Acer davidii Ernest Wilson A very neat and compact tree with its branches ascending then arching. Its leaves are uniquely cup-shaped at the base, coloured pale green then turning a vibrant orange-yellow in the autumn. A must have for those fond of a rarity.  
Acer davidii George Forrest A gloriously open tree with wonderful vigorous spreading branches. It produces lovely dark green leaves which meet contrasting rhubarb-red stalks making it a particularly attractive tree.

Paperbark Maple

Paperbark Maple, One of those much sought after trees with its peeling bark revealing the wonderfully cinnamon coloured underbark, all lovers of small trees should have this in their garden.  

Acer henryi

 

The unmistakable blue snakebark is created here with spreading branches. Leaves are beautifully tinted before turning brilliant red in the autumn. Delightful yellow flowers appear in slender, drooping catkins with unfolding leaves.  
Acer hersii There can be few more impressive plant effects than the bark on the trunk of a Snakebark Maple and this one of the very best examples with beautiful marbled bark and pretty leaves which colour superbly in the autumn.  
Acer lobelii A handy medium to large tree ideal for restricted spaces by virtue of its compact, conical head shaped branches. When young produces fabulous bloomy shoots and wavy-edged, dark green leaves with taper-pointed lobes.  
Acer maximowiczii A lovely small tree with attractive maple like foliage which are red tinted during the growing season, the trunk and larger branches with blue snakeskin like striation  
Acer micranthum A lovely collector's Maple, it has small five lobed leaves with lovely red tinge during the season, then usually turns red in autumn.

Box Elder

The Ash leafed maple is a vigorous deciduous tree with bright green leaves and clusters of yellow-green flowers in May. Easy and fast growing.  
Acer negundo Elegans A popular medium-sized, bright and bushy headed tree. Its leaflets are cheerfully bright yellow with marginal variegation whilst its young shoots have a lovely white bloom.  
Acer negundo Flamingo A very pretty small tree especially in spring when the new young leaves have a pink margin that slowly turns to white as the season progresses.  
Acer negundo Kellys Gold A very pretty, medium to large sized tree, with vigorous yellow-green leaves which are less susceptible to sunburn than others in this variety.  
Acer negundo var violaceum An attractive tree with purple or violet young shoots covered with white bloom. When young, produces shimmering bronze foliage, with the height of its beauty in spring with its long, draping pendant, reddish-pink flower tassels.  
Acer negundo Variegatum (Argenteovariegatum) This distinctively attractive tree has unique leaves with a facinating broad, irregular white margin. A most effective tree but with a tendancy to revert if not carefully pruned!

Japanese maple

Japanese maples produce either a large shrub or small tree with a low, rounded head making it particularly handsome in appearance together with its leaves lobed of a spring-fresh bright green.  
Acer palmatum Atropurpureum This large shrub or small tree is grown for it's purple leaves and brilliant autumn colour. Height: upto 3m, spread: upto 2m. Plant in acid or neutral soil away from strong winds. Keep moist until established.  
Acer palmatum Bloodgood This very good form of Japanese Maple with deep purple leaves makes a small tree or large shrub. Like all Japanese Maples keep out of windy sites and avoid hot dry positions.

Acer palmatum Crimson Queen A stunning small tree renound for its excellence. Making a low-growing, mound-shaped plant and has divinely deep purple, finely cut leaves which turn beautiful shades of long-lasting red in autumn.  
Acer palmatum Dissectum Seiryu An unusual upright large shrub, with bright green, red tinged foliage when young, the lobes are decoratively fine cut turning vibrant orange-yellow splashed crimson in autumn.  
Acer palmatum Osakazuki One of the best forms of Japanese Maple, its leaves turn from green to a fiery scarlet in autumn.  
Acer pennsylvanicum A delightful small tree, with its young stems coloured spring-fresh green, beautifully striped with white and pale jade-green and its leaves turning bright yellow in the autumn.

The Norway Maple

Makes a large imposing tree with attractive flowers that appear before the leaves in spring, which turn autumn shades of reds and yellow.The Norway Maple is easy to grow and tolerant of wide range of conditions.  
Acer platanoides Crimson King An ever popular reliable purple leaved tree of medium size and easy to grow.  
Acer platanoides Drummondii A stunning form of the Norway Maple with creamy-white margins to the leaves. Has a tendency to revert, so keep the secateurs handy!  
Acer platanoides Laciniatum Eagle's claw maple. A unique upright, large tree. Its leaves beautifully fan-shaped at the base with the lobes ending in long, slender, facinating claw-like points.

Sycamore

The Sycamore makes a vigorous large tree with large lobed leaves. Yellow flowers in a hanging panicle, the female ones becoming the familiar winged fruits, which flutter through the air when they fall.  
Acer pseudoplatanus Brilliantisimum A distinct, small tree which is slow growing. When young the leaves are glorious shrimp-pink, going through a wonderful transformation into pale yellow and then finally green.  
Acer pseudoplatanus Leopoldii The foliage produces a whole mix of colours starting in spring with the new leaves yellow pink turning as summer progresses to green and splashed with yellow and pink. Ultimately makes a large tree of easy cultivation.

A highly attractive tree of fast growth and eventual large size attractive Maple leaves producing a firework display of reds and orange in the autumn.  
Acer rufinerve The unique snake-bark maple. Grown for its attractive ornamental bark which is conspicuously lined in white. The leaves turn orange and rich crimson in autumn.

The Silver Maple, a splendid fast growing tree ultimately of large size, attractive shaped leaves silvery white beneath which create a delightful sight when rustled by a breeze, good autumn colours too.

The Sugar Maple. An ultimately large ornamental tree. With colourings varying from bright oranges and shimmering golds to deep scarlets and crimsons, making it a wonderful garden asset.  
Acer spicatum The 'Mountain Maple' producing a small tree or large shrub. Its leaves produce warm autumnal reds and yellows whilst its decorative flowers are slender, erect panicles which are later replaced with delightful red fruits.  
Acer tataricum subsp ginnala The 'Amur Maple'. A large shrub or small tree of vigorous spreading habit. Its lobed leaves begin life a fresh, bright green turning to a wonderful orange and vivid crimson in the autumn.  
Acer tataricum subsp ginnala Flame A delightfully neat and compact shrubby tree, with a beautiful brilliant red autumn colour.  
Acer Wilsons Pink Dwarf Bright lipstick pink young foliage in spring sets this choice small Jqapanese Maple apart
