If you want to purchase a plant we have listed below, but it does not appear in our on-line shop, we will quote you before you purchase. Please use the contact form by clicking here to advise us of your requirements.

We will reply via phone or email and give you current availability and price. You can then complete your purchase either on-line or by posting a cheque.

Salix

Salix aegyptica
The Musk Willow. Makes a small multi stemmed tree or large shrub, one of the
first willows to come out of winter hibernation showing off its large yellow catkins
often as early as late January.
Salix alba
The White Willow is a common native tree of conical habit. Its elegant, slender
branches bear thin, silvery-white leaves, which give the tree its name. Buy This Plant
Salix alba Britzensis (Chermesina)
A striking plant in winter with bright orange and red stems. A must for any winter
colour scheme, in both natural and formal situations. Buy This Plant
Salix alba Caerulea

Salix alba Tristis
The Golden Weeping Willow. Needs little introduction or description. Golden
yellow weeping branches surround this medium sized tree. Buy This Plant
Salix alba var sericea
Makes a smaller tree than the norm foliage a most striking silver.
Salix alba Vitellina
Another must for those seeking winter colour producing bright yellow to orange
winter shoots. Easy to grow in any situation, particularly in moist conditions. Buy This Plant
Salix alba vitellina Hutchinsons Yellow
A superb form of the Golden Willow with really bright yellow stems which stand
out on a crisp clear winters day. Very effective with other coloured stems such
as dogwoods. Buy This Plant
Salix aurita
An uncommon willow of heaths and moorland, particularly near streams. Makes
a small shrub. Buy This Plant
Salix babylonica

Salix babylonica Tortuosa
The Dragon's Claw Willow'.For lovers of twisted and curious foliage, makes a
medium sized tree.
Salix bockii
A very choice medium sized spreading shrub. It is very striking in spring when
the bare reddish stems are punctuated by the emerging bright green leaf buds.
In late summer it provides further interest with its many small grey catkins.
Salix caprea
A small, upright, erect branching, deciduous large shrub or small tree with a
fast growth rate producing showy familiar ‘pussy willow’ catkins. Easy to grow

Salix caprea Pendula

Salix cinerea
A tall shrub or small tree of up to 20m. Catkins appear in advance of the leaves
in March and April. Similar to Salix caprea. Use with other natives in hedgerows. Buy This Plant
Salix daphnoides
Purple young shoots with silky grey catkins in late winter and early spring. A
must for the wet/water-planting scheme. Buy This Plant
Salix daphnoides Acutifolia

Salix elaeagnos subsp.angustifolia (rosmarinifolia)
I much prefer its other name of rosmarinifolia which perfectly describes its
beautiful grey green 'rosemary' like foliage. Buy This Plant
Salix Erythroflexuosa Golden Curls
Makes a small tree with vivid golden orange twisted stems and yellow twisted
leaves.
Salix exigua
A really quite beautiful small tree or large shrub with slender leaves of intense
silver, remminiscant of small version of S. alba var. sericea.

Salix fragilis
Medium to large shrub, its beauty is in the red-brown polished stems giving a
very sophisticated feel. Introduced by Ernest Wilson from C China about 1922. Buy This Plant
Salix gracilistyla Melanostachys
A first class and rather specially beautiful small tree with fine narrow silky bright
silver leaves. Pity about its common name 'Coyote Willow'.
Salix hastata

Salix hastata Wehrhahnii
Beautiful in Spring when on this small and low spreading shrub the naked
branches come alive with bright silver catkins which gradually turn a rich yellow
a perfect combination.
Salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki'
A small tree like willow much in fashion at garden centres where the pretty
young new foliage is blotched with white and undertones of pink.
Salix Irrorata
Makes an easy growing medium sized shrub, the branches and stems covered in
a white bloom particularly noticeable in winter, contrasts well with coloured
stems of dogwoods and willows.

Salix Mark Postil
This charming dwarf shrub is great for winter interest with its purple-brown
winter stems. The young leaves are pale green, growing sparse white hairs as
they mature, and eventually turning dark green.

Salix pentandra
The Bay Willow so named because of the very attractive glossy green 'Bay' leaves
which produce a pleasant aromatic scent when crushed. Buy This Plant
Salix purpurea
A shrub or tree to about 5 m. tall, frequent beside lakes and rivers or other wet
situations.
Salix repens var. argentea
Forget the repens tag, does in fact make a tallish quite vigorous shrub, leaves
covered in fine silky hairs giving it that silvery appearance.
Salix smithiana
A very vigorous natural hybrid small tree or large shrub. Often used as stem for
'top grafting' work.
Salix subboposita
A rare dwarf willow of much charm when in spring the brick red catkins appear
before the leaves.
Salix triandra
The Almond-leaved Willow.
Salix triandra Rouge d'Orleans
An unusual and highly ornamental form of the Almond leaved Willow with its fine
feathery foliage, makes a large spreading shrub - very distinctive.
Salix udensis Sekka
Curious flattened and distorted branches, attractive willow foliage, all very
Japanese. Definitely a plant for the adventurous.
Salix Viminalis
Fast growing and upright large shrub or small tree producing dense green catkins
in late winter and early spring. A plant for tough wet conditions. Buy This Plant
Salix Viminalis Bowles Hybrid

Salix x sepulcralis Chrysocoma
A magnificent hybrid of the Golden Willow and the Weeping Willow. Not
surprisingly, it shares characteristics of both parents. The vigorous, weeping
branches are a golden egg-yolk yellow. Buy This Plant
