Botanica offers a wonderful and extensive selection of mature British grown shrubs that is seldom seen elsewhere. We specialise in advanced nursery stock in a wide range of sizes.

Though we grow thousands of shrubs these selected large specimen shrubs are only grown in limited numbers. They are perfect for an instant effect in any garden or landscape scheme providing a naturally established look.

For our semi- mature and large mature size shrubs we use the groundbreaking new technology of Air Pots, which produce dense non-spiralling roots systems, as well as growing them in our very own special 100% peat free compost that increases the quality of our specimen shrubs and the speed and ease of establishment when planted. So we can guarantee the superb quality of our genuine British grown mature shrubs.

Mature Specimen Viburnum pilcatum Lanarth

A really fine form similar to Mariesii but stronger growing and more upright. Masses of snowy white flowers in June.

These big mature shrubs are around 1.5m tall and are in 95L pots.

Mature Specimen Trachycarpus fortunei

"Chusan Palm" This hardy palm adds an air of the tropics to a garden. It's fully hardy but shelter from strong winds to avoid leaf damage. Yellow flowers in summer.

These Palms have been grown from seed on our nursery and are over 15 years old and have a trunk height of around 150cm.

Mature Specimen Euonymus alatus

Makes a slow growing medium sized shrub, curious corky winged bark on the branches. Fantastic autumn foliage effect of crimson red, made even more exciting when the reddish purple fruits split open to reveal orange seeds.
